Nell'ambito degli incontri "Informalgebra", giovedì 9 Marzo alle ore 16:00 in Aula Benvenuti, il dott. Andrea Albano, Dottore Magistrale in Matematica dell'Università del Salento terrà un seminario titolo:
On some aspects of homological algebra
Homological Algebra can be seen as the study of invariants of algebraic structures and the relations between them. These relations possess categorical traits as they naturally occur as functors between adequate categories. The main features of homology in its modern form were formalized among many by H. Cartan and S. Eilenberg (Homological Algebra) in 1956, who developed the notions of left (resp. right) derived functor of a right (resp. left) exact functor and shown that many homological theories were particular instances of the Ext and Tor derived functors. The talk aims at introducing the main tools of homological algebra, giving a brief overview of category theory.
As an application, we will focus on the cohomology of Lie algebras and see how it is linked with their representations.
