EVENTI
Mercoledì 26 Marzo 2025, alle ore 15:30 in Aula Anni (F8), Federico Urban (Central European Institute for Cosmology and Fundamental Physics, Prague) terrà un seminario dal titolo:
Ultra-light dark matter detection with binary pulsars
Abstract: Ultra-light dark matter field oscillations in the late Universe imprint distinctive marks on the orbital motion of binary pulsars, that depend on the details of the dark matter model, for instance its spin and interactions with the Standard Model. In this talk I will review new techniques to extract a putative ultra-light dark matter signal from pulsar-timing data. In particular, I will focus on a bayesian method for populations of binary pulsars and a machine-learning-based technique to extract the dark-matter signal from binary pulsar orbital perturbations. If time allows, I will also review recent results on dark tensor dark matter detection prospects with gravitational wave interferometers and levitated sensor detectors.
